Ace Any Interview with 8 Effective Tips!

Interviewing is one of the hardest, most stressful part of finding a new job.

Everyone has heard the common interviewing tips:

• Dress appropriately

• Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early

• Prepare some questions for the interviewer

• Practice answers to the common interview questions

• Bring extra copies of your resume

• Bring your references

• Research the company

All of above is great, must-do advice but today’s job market is very cluttered and exceedingly competitive so you need to stand out in the crowd and leave a lasting impression to land your dream job.

You may be wondering how do break through the clutter?  What should I do to stand out?

Even though Georgene Huang and Romy Newman started FairyGodBoss.com for women, they shared 8 effective tips that anyone can use to stand out at their next job interview.

Entrepreneur magazine (https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/246948) reported that a study conducted by Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology found that 60% of interviewers made decisions about a candidate in the first 15 minutes and 26% of interviewers decided within 5 minutes.

The challenge is convincing a stranger to hire you in less than 15 minutes.   This may seem impossible but it’s doable with the proper preparation. Researching the company and practicing your opening in front of another person are keys to success.

Interviewing can be very intimidating.  Preparation and practice will ensure that you do your best.  Remember that first impressions are everything!
